FAQ/Common questions and answers
How do I book?
Fill out my contact form with details about you (and your family/partner/etc.). I want to hear all your ideas and dreams for the shoot. Don't have any ideas yet? Thats okay too! Just let me know and I can send you my ideas for locations, outfit ideas, and more!
What are the next steps after confirming you're free on my desired day?
As soon as you reach out, I'll send over an email with some times I'm available to chat over Zoom or phone depending on your preference. It's important to me to feel like we click and to answer any questions you may have before you sign the contract. Depending on the type of session you want, there's a chance we could be spending a lot of time together in the future. I want to make sure we are the right fit! Once you're totally ready to book, I will send over a contract and an invoice for a deposit to hold the date.
I can't wait to share my ideas with you, help you plan, and become friends through this whole process!
When will I receive my photos?
You will receive your high quality, edited photos within 4 weeks (6 for weddings/elopement) via your personalized online gallery where you can "like", download, share, and order prints of all your favorite photos.
What do we do if it rains on the day of our shoot?
DO NOT FRET! We all know how much it can rain in the North West! We will adapt to what we're given, whether that means setting up tents, moving inside, or heck...taking a few epic photos in the rain! Whatever happens, I have all the necessary flash/lighting equipment and skill to create our own natural light. Depending on the shoot/situation, we can attempt to change the date.
Will I receive the RAW photos?
No, I do not send out RAW photos. I edit all the photos I send out in my own style and I think it's important before hiring a photographer for the client to look through their portfolio/instagram/sample galleries thoroughly to make sure they like their editing style...and will still like that style years down the road.
What is your editing style?
Timeless and true to real life. It's important to me that skin tones look natural, and colors look realistic. I want you to love your photos FOREVER, and not be bummed out in 20+ years when your photos are edited in a funky trending way from 2020.
I edit also based on the *Feel* of the shoot and the day. I'm not going to edit "bright and airy" if that's not the vibe and we're taking photos at blue hour, and I'm not going to make things look dark and moody if we are on a beach in direct sunlight. That just doesn't look good to me or make sense. Sometimes depending on the feels, I like to add a little grain or to add in a few black and white photos.
If you're not hiring me for a wedding and have a preference of an editing style that's not "true to real life" color, let me know PRIOR to signing a contract. There's a chance I can aim to do this, however it's also a possibility that we aren't the right fit for each other and that's totally okay! :)
What camera & editing software do you use?
I shoot with a Canon R5 and have a backup Canon RP. My favorite go-to lens's for most adventures are my Canon RF 24-70mm F/2.8, or the Canon RF 70-200mm F/2.8.
For editing I mostly use Adobe Lightroom and will occasionally use photoshop for certain situations. I do not use photoshop for body modifications. I will only use photoshop for removing distracting objects from important photos and fun/creative projects.
